Guides-Brownies-Rainbows

Volunteers are also welcomed by any of the Guiding units please got to ww.girlguidingcumbriasouth.co.uk where you can register an interest on the Girlguiding website. We welcome all girls from age 5 upwards and volunteers from age 14 years. The Adult Leadership Qualification is a recognised qualification and is helpful when applying for jobs or going to University, we also have an Arts Award which gains points for University applications.

Hawkshead Bowling Club

Open to members and visitors to end of September. Fees for visitors £2.00pp./per day, accompanied children £1.00, inc. bowls hire. Key for access for bowls at Hawkshead Relish, The Square, Hawkshead. Match nights every Monday and every other Friday, plus occasional Wednesdays. Club night Wednesday. For fixtures see website.

Coniston Tennis Club

We have two grass tennis courts. New members and visitors welcome (nearest facility to Hawkshead)., pay at Coniston Gifts. Seasonal membership available. Also, all ages and ladies welcome. Play anytime. Try Wednesday-Friday 4pm to 6pm for friendly doubles games. Beautiful setting at the foot of Coniston Old Man.

Market Hall Hawkshead

The recently-refurbished Market Hall provides a venue for a range of community events – meetings, coffee mornings, private parties – and commercial exhibitions. The Assembly Room seats 110 in cinema-style, the Lower Room approximately 40. There is a fully-equipped kitchen on the lower floor and galley-kitchen on the upper floor. Charges start from £6.60 per hour.

Recreational facilities for the village. The trust administers all matters relating to the recreation ground. It supplies the equipment and meets the running costs. It relies solely on charitable donations.
